Business Cards
Volunteers who hold leadership positions (Geographic Unit and Society officers) may order official IEEE business cards that contain the IEEE Master Brand. (These are not available to IEEE members).
IEEE members are permitted, however, to indicate their membership grade on a business card (e.g., Senior members may use SMIEEE or “IEEE Senior Member,” but not the IEEE Master Brand). Member grade can also be listed on personal letterhead and e-mail signature blocks.
MGA Officers in need of business cards should email scs-products@ieee.org. Technical Societies and Councils should contact their IEEE staff representative.
IEEE Alias Emails
The required submission serves as registration/update for a functional alias. A functional alias is defined as a non-personal IEEE email alias that forwards to an individual. Usual candidates for functional aliases are Regions, Sections, Chapters, and Student Branches or their activities. For example, scanner@ieee.org would forward messages to j.smith@yahoo.com or sb.mit@ieee.org, an MIT Student Branch alias that forwards to the Student Branch counselor.
Please follow the standard formatting of adding Region, Section, or Chapter information as part of the email address, as well as the purpose, to define the use. For example: “Region 9 Student Robotic” as r9-stu-robotic@ieee.org. Student Branch standard format is sb-xxx@ieee.org or sbc-xxx-emb@ieee.org for a Student Branch Chapter. Include the school name, abbreviated as necessary, and the society code for chapters. (There is a 15-character limit.)
Please note that all “new’ alias requests can only contain a dash “-” within the naming format. Submitted with any other character will cause the request to be rejected.
