To be the essential hub for technical professionals in the western United States, recognized globally for advancing technology and innovation. Region 6 will lead in shaping the future by leveraging its deep ties to major technology companies and research institutions, inspiring a diverse and dynamic community to improve global conditions through engineering excellence.
The Region has 35 Sections and 2 sub-Sections, organized in to 5 Areas: Northeast, Northwest, Central, Southern and Southwest. The Region 6 Committee shall consist of the following Region 6 members, each to have one vote unless otherwise specified.

Founding Dates
Region 6 (Western United States) was established in 1963 when AIEE and IRE merged to form IEEE. Predecessor to Region 6 existed in AIEE; AIEE lists Districts 8, 9 and 15 containing Sections that are currently in Region 6. There are currently 35 Sections in the Region. Read more →
